Social Work England will be a specialist body taking a new approach to regulating social workers. They believe in the importance of collaboration and share a common goal with those they regulate—to protect the public, enable positive change and ultimately improve people’s lives. To help them succeed they are creating a number of opportunities to listen to those with an interest in social work, including a series of consultation events across England.
These consultation events will focus on the rules and standards which they need to set before they can begin their work. This includes the standards they have drafted for social workers and training providers, and the rules thy are putting in place for how:
• social workers register with then.
• they deal with concerns raised about social workers.
• they approve social work courses with education and training providers.
At each event, you will have the opportunity to hear from members of the Social Work England leadership team, to test their thinking and help shape the regulator they will become.
