What is a Parenting Risk Assessment?

A Parenting Risk Assessment is a detailed, community-based assessment that is designed to identify, explore and analysis potential risk(s) and protective factors to the child(ren). For example, neglect, emotional abuse, physical abuse and drug abuse.

This comprehensive assessment will highlight clear and achievable recommendations about how the identified risks can be reduced and managed. The Parenting Risk Assessment collates all the available evidence and information focusing on the best outcomes for the child by helping parent(s)/Carer(s) develop their knowledge and skills.
