Learn 4 Life School has been in operation for 10 years, since the appointment of the current head and has been Department of Education registered since July 2005.
The school caters for co-educational day placements in the secondary age phase. Students are those presenting challenging behaviours, often with Education, Health and Care Plans for Social,Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMHD).
Admissions are day placements from neighbouring Local Authorities requiring specialist provision. The school also admits Looked After Children placed at Care Afloat registered children’s homes by their Home Authorities.
The aim of Learn 4 Life School is for students to access nationally recognised qualifications through the provision of personalised learning. This is achieved by developing in students a sense of self esteem, equipping them with the skills to gain control of their lives, engendering an enjoyment of learning, promoting unconditional acceptance and enabling students to be included within their community.
All students access our 5 Stage Inclusion Strategy which aims to integrate them at their own pace into groups, re-enforcing no exclusion policy. Learn 4 Life delivers all 12 National Curriculum subjects at Key Stage 3. At KS4, the school offers GCSEs,BTEC, Entry Level AQA Unit Award and ASDAN qualifications. They work with external providers for the delivery of highly specialised areas in Music-Rock School Awards; Hairdressing- City and Guilds; Car Mechanics- IMIAL Award; Land Based Skills- BTEC Level 1.

Tailor made re-engagement packages are also available. The package is underpinned by Personal Development, aiming to re-engage students with learning by promoting their own individual development. Team building, sports activities, numeracy, literacy and ICT form the core of this package. “a supportive environment within which pupils…re-engage with education.” OFSTED 2012.
