Those of you who have been following our posts know that Cera Care (our main partner for our Work and Care Together convention!) are a London-based home care provider that uses state-of-the-art technology to improve quality and efficiency, matching those needing social care with a highly experienced carer, at the right time, in the right place.
Cera have launched a new service called ‘Cera Flex‘. They understand that families need 24 hour reassurances that their loved ones will be taken care of. We thought we’d take a closer look at what Cera Flex is and why it’s such a great addition to the care sector.
What is CeraFlex and how does it work?
CeraFlex is a new model of care Cera are piloting; it combines regular visits (daily, 3 times per day) for £400, with a 24/7 on demand service for additional visits. Each on-demand visit lasts 30 minutes and costs £15.
Where are Cera Care servicing?
They are starting in and around Muswell Hill, North London, and will expand to other areas over time.
How would you save money?
By balancing regular daily care with the peace of mind of a carer who can come within 30 minutes when something unexpected happens, Cera can provide care 24/7 but more affordably than a live-in carer.
Will it always be the same carer?
Cera strive to deliver a continuous care experience, which is why we always try to ensure that the same carer delivers each visit. However, due to the on-demand nature of CeraFlex, this is not always possible.
How do I request the on demand care? Can my loved one (service user) request the care easily?
When you sign up for the service, you will be given a dedicated phone number for requesting visits.
Is there a limit to the on demand care?
No, but be aware that excessive use of the on demand service can be more expensive than our other care options.
Does the on demand care have to be only 30 mins?
Based on our review of this service, the majority of on-demand requests can be managed within 30 minutes.
How do you ensure consistency in care quality?
Quality of care is Cera’s highest priority, which is why they ensure that each visit is fully documented to allow for a smooth handover between carers. They also undertake enhanced DBS background checks, and put our professional carers through rigorous and continuous training.
